Vertical Blinds
Once seen in office buildings, vertical blinds are also very popular
for home as well. Many clients feel verticals are very handsome
when used in contemporary settings, and are surprised to learn that
they can have traditional applications as well.
Vertical blinds have slim louvers or vanes, which overlap one another
at the edges and hang vertically from a track. The track is then
channeled to allow the louvers to be drawn, traversing style from
left to right, right to left, or to open up in the center like draperies.
Louvers can be rotated in place up to 180 degrees so you can control
the amount of light and privacy you desire.
One of the fun things about decorating with louvers is that you
can change the vanes to suit your design. Vertical vanes come in
a wide variety of textures – from vinyl, aluminum, cane,
knitted fabrics, and decorative fabrics. Verticals also come in
a groover
that allows wallpaper or fabric to be inserted.
Talk about flexibility of design!! |
