Budget Considerations
How much do I need to budget?
Like any home furnishing purchase, it's important to carefully plan
and prioritize your budget. Nothing is more disappointing than to
fall in love with a window treatment design and fabric, only to discover
that your budget won't allow the expense.
Because window treatment products are so diverse, it's always wise
to first budget for treatments that handle the your basic window
needs – privacy, room darkening, energy efficiency. Once you
take stock of those needs, and budget accordingly, the design elements
can be easily added.
Most window treatment designs are multiple layered treatments. Undertreatments
can range from the cost effective and practical mini blinds, all
the way up to beautiful Silouettes. Wood blinds, honeycomb shades,
verticals, and pleated shades are also great "under-treatments".
And it should stand to reason that the more fabric you incorporate
into your window treatment design, the most it will cost. Often times,
it's a great design idea to use a luxurious fabric, and incorporate
this fabric into a modest design. Your windows will take on an even
more spectacular look – thanks to your fabric choice. |
