Gorgeous Guest Rooms!
When planning your guestroom decorating, you’ll find it a
big time saver to plan for ways this room could double in use. Perhaps
your guestroom might also be your hobby room. Or perhaps it’s
a quiet retreat for you. Guestrooms can even double as home offices
or exercise rooms.
Since space may be your biggest consideration, simplicity and tranquility
might be your goals. Naturally, the size of your room will affect
your decorating decisions. Because furnishings in this room may
be sparse, think about "double" duty whenever possible.
Perhaps a day bed, filled with a variety of comfortable accent pillows
might fit the bill. Bed by night, alternative sofa by day.
Since storage might also be a consideration, consider placing a
wicker or wooden trunk at the foot of the bed. It’s the perfect
place to place extra linens, pillows, etc when your guests arrive.
Lighting in this room should be simple, yet effective. A corner
table with a decorative table lamp placed next to the bed is a must.
Window treatments should be simple, yet decorative. Why not have
some real fun in designing a clever treatment for windows in this
special room?
You might also consider decorating this room around a theme: a garden
bedroom; sports bedroom; hobby bedroom; dog lover bedroom, a Victorian
bedroom. Creating a theme room can be a lot of fun...especially
when shopping for accessories! |
